When inadequately treated\, RA is associated with substantial pain\, deformity\, and disability. However\, these poor outcomes can largely be avoided through early diagnosis and appropriate management. It is well-established that the burden of RA in the United States falls disproportionately on communities of color and rural populations. Indian Country is faced with high RA prevalence and disease severity\, and very limited access to rheumatology specialists. Given the shortage of local rheumatology providers\, the majority of RA care falls to primary care providers (PCPs). Supporting PCP-led management of RA is key to reducing unnecessary suffering and improving the lives of those with RA. \nThe Indian Country Rheumatoid Arthritis ECHO program provides comprehensive information and mentorship to clinicians and staff serving American Indian and Alaska Native (AI/AN) people to effectively diagnose and integrate evidence-based treatment of RA. The program will offer a free ECHO collaborative to continue learning\, knowledge sharing and support during virtual ECHO clinics focused on improving RA disease-associated outcomes and reducing health disparities. The 1-hour virtual sessions will offer clinicians an opportunity to present cases\, receive recommendations from peers and specialists\, and an opportunity to obtain CE credit following participation in a didactic presentation. Sessions take place virtually using the Zoom platform and are held weekly – Monday (12-1pm PT) for 10 weeks\, starting September 11\, 2023. \nParticipants who attend at least 8 out of 10 sessions\, submit 1 de-identified patient case\, and actively participate will be eligible to receive an official Certificate of Completion for the RA training program from the American College of Rheumatology.

Dr. Lewis discusses Indigenous health and wellbeing as holistic\, encompassing physical\, emotional\, social\, and cultural health. Furthermore\, Dr. Lewis reviews the degradative effects of colonization\, and stresses the importance of cultural revitalization and decolonization as preventative measures and to improve health\, overall. This 4-hour virtual training program provides comprehensive and practical information to effectively integrate substance use disorder (SUD) treatment and management into primary care practice. In this series of presentations\, you’ll hear from the multi-disciplinary team at Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH) Charlestown HealthCare Center. First\, their clinical director\, nurse manager\, and recovery coach will provide an overview of their integration model. Next\, a primary care physician will discuss their personal experiences in stepping into this new role and practice. Then\, another primary care physician will review best practices related to the treatment and management of SUDs by highlighting clinical application and key clinical pearls.
